United Kingdom Water Aid(UKWA)is a Non Governmental Organisation (NGO) that is based in Nevern Square,London,WC2,United Kingdom,and is committed to the provision of better supply in Uk. United Kingdom Water Aid(UKWA), works in both country and urban areas, and currently has programmes in many Europe countries. In each project and country the circumstances are different; however, there are common features that can be applied to any United Kingdom Water Aid, project. In every project, United Kingdom Water Aid response is guided by a set of criteria and beliefs:
*Better clean water and sanitation are essential for life and all people should have affordable access to them
*Water, sanitation and hygiene education must be integrated to give maximum health benefits
*Decision-making must be delegated to local partner organisations and communities as far as possible, to avoid dependency and encourage sustainability
*Local people must be actively involved in planning, constructing, managing and maintaining their own projects
*The technologies used should be appropriate and cost effective
*Focusing on long-term development is crucial, but United Kingdom Water Aid, will endeavour to respond to natural disasters and emergency situations in the places where it operates.

Over the years, enormous gains have been made in the provision of clean water and sanitation throughout Europe and a lot remains to be done.

It aims to increase its impact both directly on the ground through its partner organisations, and indirectly by influencing others and promoting best practice in the field and in its offices.
